Wingman Weekly: Merchant Account Fees
Merchant Account Fees are a necessary part of choosing a merchant service provider. But every merchant service provider has different fees associated with their accounts. Processing fees—interchange and assessment fees—are unavoidable because it costs money to process credit and debit cards. However, some providers increase this fee 1-2 times a year, making you pay more for the same service. Monthly fees are also part of most merchant accounts because your merchant service provider needs to cover their costs. Some fees like PCI Non-Compliance fees are completely avoidable, but you might not know the process to remove them.
There are many account fees that merchant service providers charge that are not always standard. Fees to utilize gateways or monthly subscriptions for every point of sale terminal are common, but not every provider charges them. Annual fees (on top of monthly fees) are completely unnecessary, and any fees to get access to your merchant statements are not common.
With Wingman Payments, our pricing is transparent. We charge a monthly account fee. We provide a PCI Concierge Service that ensures you are taking secure payments. If you need to utilize ACH services, there is a small fee, but other than that, all other fees are a thing of the past. We do not charge subscription fees on your terminals, and our agreements are month-to-month, so you will never see any annual fees. We do not increase your processing fees, so your fees remain the same for the duration of the account. Our line is always open, so if you have questions or concerns, we are able to address them for you.
